Design Theory was such a special project for us. We were really able to hone in on special design elements and original color palettes that make each room super interesting. These clients moved to Owensboro to be closer to family, found this home and decided they wanted to gut it completely and start fresh.

We worked on the master suite floor plan to make it more user friendly, moved the laundry back by the bedrooms for an adjacency that makes more sense, and opened up walls all while keeping the charm of the old house.

The marriage of gold and black metals, glass door knobs (to give it a nostalgic feel), custom window treatments in each room, and notes of communicating colors throughout the space that tie everything together like a beautiful bow.

What you see here is a home with loads of character. Every room has a theme; every piece a meaning. It’s one of those places you could live in for years and still find new, unexpected features of cohesive design, elements, and principles.
